Hi. I’m Victoria Contreras, and I built Yomisma because I was tired of being lied to.
For five years, I woke up at 3am every night. Drenched in sweat. Heart racing. Furious. Welcome to perimenopause.
I tried everything. $300 pajamas. A $400 “cooling” duvet so hot we moved it to the guest room. Supplements. Sleep trackers.
$1,000 later, I was still awake.
And I realized: the wellness industry has been selling women greenwashing for years.
Bamboo that “feels cool” but does nothing for your physiology. Moisture-wicking fabrics that absorb sweat but don’t address why you’re sweating. Expensive lies marketed to 50 million women who’ve already been overlooked for decades.
I got angry. So I Built the Real Solution
Here’s the thing: I didn’t come to this as an outsider.
I spent 20 years at one organization — Started as the receptionist. Worked my way up to become the youngest member of the leadership team, managing 30 people and helping scale revenue. I learned every part of the business from the ground up — customer service, operations, sales strategy, team building. I know what it takes to turn an idea into something that actually works. Because I’ve done it before.
Then I founded Yomisma in 2023 as an eco-friendly clothing brand. I knew textile sourcing, ethical supply chains, how to build community around product that actually means something. I knew textile sourcing, supply chains, community building. But when I started experiencing night sweats myself, I realized I wasn’t just building a fashion brand anymore.
I was solving a problem I’d been studying my entire life: how does the body regulate itself when it’s dysregulated?
At four, I discovered singing calmed my anxiety. As a classically trained vocalist, I spent decades understanding nervous system regulation through breath and sound.
Now I’m applying that expertise to sleep — because sleep is when the body should be healing.
So I spent two years developing TriVara™ — proprietary smart textile technology combining thermal regulation, inflammation support, and skin hydration. No devices. No chemicals. Just science woven into sleepwear you’d actually want to wear.
This isn’t bamboo. This isn’t cooling. This is recovery.
I put my own money on the line to build this. Not because I thought it would be a good business (though it is). But because I was you — lying awake at 3am, furious that no one was solving this.
If you’ve been there, glad you found us.
Welcome to Yomisma. Let’s finally get some sleep.
— Victoria
